I’m pretty proud of these two shots from downtown Anderson.

Awesome.

Rebirth for iPhone

It’s back, Rebirth, now for iPhone. I am pretty stoked about this… this is the app that eventually morphed into Propellerhead Reason. And now I can carry it around on my phone, amazing.

Hipstamatic at Lowe’s

1

I had 10 minutes to kill at Lowe’s today waiting for someone to unlock the big saw. I found Hipstamatic a pleasant way to pass the time.

The Glitch Mob: Beyond Monday

Now there’s how to create a live electronic performance. Also, how to create a nuevo-boy band. But I still enjoyed it.

Around the house looping

This induces both creative jealousy and motion sickness. But wow, that’s pretty amazing.

To open our Easter 2010 services we asked the question “Have you ever tried to get someone’s attention?” Then we attempted to illustrate that point throughout the day in a variety of ways. The first was the opening song/video.

Stop motion rig

ISO50 has a good “how-to” article today on building a stop motion-from-above rig. (link). I’m more and more fascinated by this sort of technique.

Kaoss Pad experiment

1

I’ve spent a little of my free time over the past few weeks learning how to manipulate sound in real time with the Korg Kaoss Pad. I’m intrigued with what can be created by continually interacting with an x-y controller, turning knobs, and occasionally feeding in some new soundbits via iPhone apps (such as Argon and Rain).

This music video, sent my way by Blankenship, is downright amazing.

Adam has a great post up today about color grading, it’s intention, and setting mood and tone.

Let’s talk about how pace, timing, and a great audio score surpass overly complex or realistic visuals, shall we? Need an example?

I love grunge

And that’s some nice grunge.

Fictionist – Blue Eyed Universe

I think my favorite part is either the block space textures near the beginning or the track matte characters / textures at the end.

Lego Podracer

This weekend G and I decided to create a Lego podracer (guess who’s learning about Star Wars?). This is what we came up with.

Here let’s talk about how far a piece can be elevated with the right score and sound design.

And amazing organic / 3D visuals.

Love that texture? How’d they achieve it? Print every frame, photocopy, then scan ‘em back it.

That’s my kind of style.

The Ostrich

In today’s burst of inspiration let’s talk about how the mixed media + subtle CG + story + tempo + soundtrack all combine to make this downright perfect. I’m inspired.

Airborn intro animation

Well done by Lufthoheit. Especially since it’s comprised of 2D elements and some great smoke animation.

Weird thing I learned today

I never knew this, but manta rays jump out of the water. Now you know this, too.
