Daedelus – Far From Home

0

Came across this new video this morning of Daedelus rocking out on a pair of monomes. In an arcade.

I still love it, the idea of tangibly creating music that exists primarily in an electronic medium. If his goal is to make this music feel tangible I would say he succeeded. Very well executed (and I believe I caught a shot of a 5D toward the end, no surprise there).

I really appreciate seeing unique music executed live.

Don’t forget to check the click-track channel

Found this retro *photo today from the “olden days,” it’s a subtle reminder to route the audio correctly for a video click track.

Sometimes the simplest ways are the best.

Great little mini-tutorial on Trapcode Form. Must find a place to use this.

Now I’m convinced you can buy anything from Amazon, even a pound of fat.

Everything is a Remix

Loved this, and it’s only part 1 of 4. I especially loved the use of my favorite all time band (if you force me to choose one), Led Zeppelin.

Falkirk July 2010 set

0

The other day I came across this DJ set by Falkirk and after digesting it thoroughly I am blown away. First off, you can jump into it at nearly any point and find something amazing. (But I suggest 5:15, 13:46, and 17:03 as my favorite points). Also, it’s available as an mp3 to speed up those early morning jogs.

Ten toughest games to beat

1

IGN blogs their list of the Ten Toughest Games to Beat. At first I looked forward to taking issue with their list, but I’m satisfied, especially since Battletoads made it to number 8.

Telephoneme.tv – a new MK12 masterpiece

I could only dream of being able to pull something like this off one day. Great type, great moves, love the color treatment. Can I get it as a T-shirt?

iPod (shuffle) playlist

0

This might be fun. I’ve been working out in the mornings with my iPod on shuffle. Here are some randomly selected tracks that appeared today.

Ratatat – Neckbrace
Smashing Pumpkins – Galapagos
Richard Devine – Matvec Interior
Propellereads – on her majesty’s secret service
Jungle Bros – V.I.P.

So, there’s a small selection to get started with.

I really dig this faux-real, but illustrated style.

Grid-it

This seems like it would be a solution to many of my bag clutter problems.

$35 tablet?

1

You know, if this is the truth and India has developed a $35 tablet (Linux, never-the-less) I may have to put aside my iPad desires and give this little fella a shot.

KidSpring promo

Here’s a little quick hit promo I built to announce our kid’s department takeover of the main service in a few weeks.

Projection mapped visuals

Well I’m sufficiently impressed. Here’s a link to the technique.

Love this.

Great execution, and I appreciate that it was done “the hard way,” no animation shortcuts. It really shows in the fluidity.

Blog spiffing

2

It was time, and so I’ve spiffed up the avclub with a nice clean theme. Hopefully it’ll serve me well for as long as the last look. I think there may be an option with a JPEG background that I can pull out for the holidays (where did I locate that animated Christmas tree *.gif?).
