I don’t know what you have planned for today, but you could do much worse than the Horizon Record’s record fair in Greenville, SC. New vinyl, old vinyl, DJs. I’m not sure what else, but I’ll find out when I get there (with my entire family… that’s right).

Meg sent this my way the other day. Our son, G, loves Richard Scarry’s books, all of them. I grew up on them, too. Well, in this comparison of the 1963 version vs. the 1990 version it appears there are some differences. Nice.

Nice little app I came across today, meet iTV. It’s a TV Guide style browser for shows and movies. A few features that mean I’ll be using it quite a while:
- customize to your shows, channels
- location aware, sets channels based on your geographic location.
- includes previews for TV and movies as well as a brief summary.
- free (a winner in my book)
Go give it a try and check out these screen captures.

This guy still intrigues me. If you’re not watching Fringe, you probably don’t really care. This was from the third episode.
Is anyone else out there watching Fringe?

Thunder-what?

Last Friday Meg and I hosted her parents for supper and some family hang out time. After watching my kids chase their dog into exhaustion (it was pretty funny), they were off to bed.
Then her dad and I had a lesson in Illustrator. He’s a fine artist who’s learned Photoshop over the past 3 years and it’s on to a new challenge.
Then he began to explore youtube for some videos of bag pipers. Yes, that’s what I said. Preston’s a piper (pictured here on the right) and loves that stuff. Most of what he heard played was traditional music, but this one piece caught my attention.
That’s, it’s AC/DC’s Thunderstruck played on the pipes.
Hmm…

Could be real, but could this be a ploy from Fringe (I’m talking to you, Roper).

I get that you hate cats. That’s OK, I don’t hate you. But even if you despise the little critters, you must admit you’re impressed by the moves of this ninja cat. Look at it. You never see it move, yet he keeps getting closer and closer.

Wired.com has a great article on the most recent NIN tour. I feel fully satisfied after reading this. As I saw the show, I still had that little element of doubt, “hey, did they just record that.” But no, it really was done live.

Today’s Wednesday and my brain’s on the fried side for some odd reason. I dub today “brainfry Wednesday” and vow to go to bed at a decent hour tonight. Let’s celebrate by looking at a few fun links. When I get to my printer, I plan to start work on some of these.[photopress:001b.png,full,pp_image]
Also, I don’t know if this is in the plans for our office decor in the future, but I would like to see it happen.

Last night I caught the movie 21. It was the classic math-genius-turns-Vegas-card-shark flick that’s very consistent with the trailer.
Not too challenging, not too deep. It kept my attention in a “”I know what will happen bit it’s fun to watch” sort of way. I’d rate it at 3 of 5 stars. You lose one point for the actor narrating off-camera parts of the film, but you gain that point back because it’s set in vegas.
