Don’t worry, we’re not painting the outside of our house this color (though wouldn’t THAT be awesome?), but I like the way the hard lines feel like some sort of mod 70s illustration.

Meg and I spent the past few days enjoying some time away. Occasionally we’d find ourselves in a store where the typical dude would find himself bored (can you say Marshall’s?) but I made the most of these opportunities hunting down interesting patterns. Sometimes I run up against my own personal challenge of feeling like I always have to innovate, always have to create something new. But reality is I need to focus on communicating effectively. So in this piece I focused on the script, timing, and tone… and leaned heavily on Mr. Andrew Kramer’s lessons for the visual identity. You don’t always have to reinvent the wheel (though sometimes that’s fun), but you do have to succeed in getting your message across.
