Lost is always better communal

I love Lost. I like where season 5 is heading (though do any of us really know where that is?). And I most appreciate that it is best enjoyed as a community event.

  • Perhaps you do, but I think I’d go berserk. There’s always that one person that feels the need to talk through everything. I’d rather soak it in, without the chatter, but then converse with everyone after the fact.

    Great premiere by the way!

Robert, I see your point. That’s why we created “the rules.” Basically the rule is not talking during the show, save your questions for commercial breaks. That seems to hold in my crew (with a little enforcement), but with the advent of DVR I’m not sure how we’ll maintain order with the option of pausing…

  • I like your rules. Early on in my marriage my wife didn’t quite get why I didn’t want to talk through a show, like 24 for instance. We’ve both given ground since then. We have a similar unspoken set of rules. No talking during the show, save all activity for commercials, and we don’t answer the phone.

By the way, really enjoy your site. Glad I came across your profile on Twitter Grader.

  • I agree, watching LOST with a group definitely requires some ground rules. At my house we’re 5 years into the show with mostly the same people so the rules are pretty well understood by now.
