This weekend, Dad, Gardner, and I went on our first grandfather / father / son fishing trip down to our family farm. The score, Gardner 2, Dad 1, Me 0. So fishing is not one of the things I do well, I’m OK with that. Gardner had a great time (as seen on his expression in the photo). You can view the entire photoset here.

In other weekend news, Daniel Harper did an amazing job on the NewSpring stage this Sunday. Perry has some notes on his message, and it’ll be online at the NewSpring site by tomorrow for streaming.

Meg and I had a great Memorial Day yesterday, which for me included replacing two more windows in the house. If you’re keeping score, that’s 5 windows replaced, 16 to go. It’s a process, people. This time I tackled the upstairs window in Rainey’s room. Yeah, it’s a lot scarier when you work a floor up. I’m not down with the whole “heights” thing, but I did it anyway and they turned out better than the first three. I also installed dimmer switches in a few more locations. If I could, I’d put dimmers over my whole house just so I’d have options.

We had some friends from out of town come hang out yesterday. I did the American thing and grilled burgers. (ran out of gas right in the middle of it, bummer). But that’s why they make convenience stores just down the street. Then we fired up the pit and made S’mores. Mmm. I ended the evening with my neglected Wii.

That’s about it, this week bodes to be a fun one with preparations for the One Prayer series in two weeks. We’re adding a few elements as we have some free time. You’ll just have to come to NewSpring see what comes of it.
