Glassworks studio

Now that’s some beautiful studio / workspace, the new studios of Glassworks. It’s worth watching their reel, too. If I’m ever in the Netherlands (which is likely never), I’ll need to drop by for a visit.

Cat hunt

3

My cat’s been stalking a family of moles (or mice, not sure) in the back yard. She’s been on this stakeout for about 2-3 weeks now. I don’t think she looks happy… she has her game face on.

Here she is in action (as much action as there is for a cat).

The score so far: cat 2, moles 0. And by 2, I mean to carcasses left upon my doorstep.

Tavo Ponce / MADinSpain

This is a gorgeous, intricately paced piece by Tavo Ponce for MADinSpain. (watch it here).

Dare I deserve Cake?

0

This is too good to be true, but it IS true. In the same month as Radiohead’s new album release, Cake is putting out a new album, the first since 2004. B-sides and Rarities looks like a winner. Much like Radiohead, I’ll own it on the band’s reputation alone, and will then staunchly defend anyone who criticizes this work of genius.

Blades of Glory

I finally caught Blades of Glory tonight. It was enjoyable. Not quite Talladega Nights or Napoleon Dynamite, but worthy of a Netflixing. Is that a noun? Netflixing.

you can go your own way

3

It’s no secret that in my top 10 list of all bands, Radiohead is deeply rooted somewhere between 1 and 5. I couldn’t be more excited that they are releasing a new album on Oct. 10th, the first in several years. And in true form, they are releasing it a little differently. It will be available two ways, digitally downloaded from their site, or purchased in a large extended kit, again from their site.

There is no iTunes download.

You can’t buy this in stores.

And the interesting part, the download version, you can set your own price. How much is it worth to you? Free? OK. $10.00? OK, too. Buy away. If you buy the boxed version, which includes extra material, a few vinyls, artwork, and a lot of extras, you’ll get to download immediately and the physical copy will be sent to you. I think I know what I want for Christmas.

Here’s an article on the whole undertaking. Leave it to Radiohead to take on the entire music industry model. Makes me wonder what things I need to shake up?
