Could someone please explain how this works? I’m really not sure. Now, I didn’t pay to go in. Has anyone? Also, I’m curious about the 2 foot woman they were advertising, too.

Next week begins The Perfect Kid, NewSpring’s parenting series. You may have seen the promo site by now. It’s going to be fun. This week, we ran a little promo the team put together… I’m pretty excited about this one.

Where’s the Beef?

Last night, my wife and I had a great date night and hit up downtown Greenville. We went “old school” with a visit to Charlie’s Steakhouse… a fine 1921 era establishment for beef. Their decor and recipe style is about the same as they’ve been doing for the past 86 years. If you know me (and my wife) you’ll know we don’t often opt for red meat. But their “steak for two” was well worth it. I’ll hold out this place (located on Coffee St. in downtown Greenville) for my steak fix once a year. Also, their old-school-like-we’re-not-even-kidding decor is the best. (enjoy here)
And the lights last night looked beautiful down there.

Here’s a quick camera phone shot of one of last week’s animated visuals. The song is Crashed by Daughtry and the visuals were just a different interpretation of the lyrics. Simple, clean, and it compliments the song well. The entire performance from the band will be available on NewSpring’s site. (if it’s not already there… there have been some technical difficulties this week).

I don’t know how this was cut from the original, but I love the scene where Darth Vadar is acting like a jerk.

I’d go into details, but it’s better written over at Techcrunch. Nine Inch Nails has followed Radiohead’s new trend and have decided to leave the former old-media model of doing business. See it over at NIN.com.
This sets an interesting precedent for future musical acts. It will be interesting to see how things change in the future.

What’s that show?

Meg and I were talking tonight and the question came up. What TV show was in (probably late 80s or early 90s) that had a convertible driving through a car wash in the opening title sequence?
Or maybe it was a movie, same timeframe.
Any ideas?

found my Cake

On Charles’ recommendation, I went up to Rainbow Records (our local independent record store) to look for the new Cake and they had it. And it’s good. Really good. A few live tracks, lots of covers, and a few original Cake cuts make it worthwhile.
And did I mention it’s a scratch-n-sniff album cover? Yep, it smells like grape.

I ventured to Best Buy today looking for the new Cake, B-sides and Rarities, but they didn’t have it in yet. Boo. But I did find this, on Cake’s site… mp3 samples from the album. I’m really looking forward to Never Never Gonna Give You Up and the cover of War Pigs.
junk drawer

Today, Meg and I are sifting through junk drawers and have rearranged every piece of furniture in the house. If the toilets weren’t adhered to the floor, I think they would be subject to rearrangement, too. Going through the junk drawer, I found such gems as 3 Euros (in coin form), keys to every car I’ve ever owned, my cat’s rabies tags from 6 years ago (and several phone numbers back), and an actual road map. In the age of Google maps and GPS, I wonder why I still need that. If you watched The Office last night, you’ll know.
