disc golf, guy’s night

Tonight was home group guy’s night out. We ventured up to Greenville for another round of disc golf, this time at *Gower Park. I never knew it was there. In fact, there are quite a few courses in South Carolina. We bought a few new discs at the Sports Authority across town, and headed over for nine holes (strange they aren’t called baskets).
Mind you, I always finish last, but I was only down by one this time. This is as close as I get to a sports passion; someone help me embrace it.
I’m now interested in proper technique, official rules, and even the explanation of why there are so many discs out there. I’m sure that knowledge comes with time.
*From Anderson, take I-85 North to exit 48B (Laurens Rd.). Just across from the Hooters, make a left (nearly opposite Haywood Rd.) onto Laurel Creek Ln. The park is on your left.

Clearly, from your photo, the problem is two fold. First, you are holding the disc in your left hand…..few left handers excel at any sport including the word “golf”. Perhaps, you are holding the disc in your left hand because you are actually right handed and needed your preferred appendage to operate the camera. Secondly, if I am not mistaken, that is the Tiger Woods in the photo….I know he donned a disguise to keep the crowds down, but I would recognize him anywhere. So I suppose that Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia rounded out your foursome, meaning that finishing only one stroke back was quite an accomplishment….

i’ve been getting into disc golf a lot lately. one of my friends from liberty university got me hooked. if you haven’t done so yet, play the course at timmons park in g-vegas. i can hook you up with some directions if you need it. its a full 18 holes of awesomeness. i bought some new discs the other day and brought my best run on the course from +10 to -3. if you ever want to throw, let me know. (dang it, i just rhymed.)
