Illuminate promo
Next week begins a new series. Illuminate will be launching. Here are the two variations of the promo. The first, we’ll call it the director’s cut, didn’t make the screen. At the last minute, we switched it for version 2. Funny how one little audio clip at the end will set the final tone for a piece, huh? I do like version 1, but it does have an unsettling, foreboding feel. Version 2 is more appropriate for what’s to be communicated.

Very cool. What do you use for your audio editing (voice overs)?

We use a guy named Ron Whittemore, he’s here:
voiceguy@mchsi.com
We use him for our voice over work when we’re going for movie-trailer style.

I don’t know, I actually kind of like the second one a little more than the first.
Then again, I’m not a huge fan of barbershop

The Crowder is a bit abrupt of a change from the rest of the audio. I think it’s the synth/dream sort of pad in the background that makes it ominous sounding. “This Little Light of Mine” at the end of the first one gives it a sort of horror movie feel when in combination with that synth pad. Sort of like a Chucky movie or one of those little girl and her dolly who saw a serial killer at work movies. Creepy McCreep! Would almost like to hear the instrumental part of the ending song (Crowder or otherwise) through the piece and then the vocals kick in at the end…that might contradict Mr. Movie Voice’s role, though. Other songs… “Shine Like Stars” – Holland, “We Shine” – Steve Fee, “Shine” – Matt Redman, etc…

Nice input. I’m looking for tracks for the series, too. I’ll keep these in mind. Thanks!

Ken,
What an awesome production yesterday’s service was….I can’t help but believe that the production enhanced an extremely relevant, and well delivered, message and provided the trimmings that will have attendees telling non attendees throughout the week.
Predicted net result: Increase attendance throughout the series and increased likelihood that at least one person, currently “in the dark”, will be spiritually “Illuminated”.
Congrats to you, and all the folks from the various groups who contributed, for making the sum result, so much greater than the individual pieces.
One favor to request….Will captured, and printed, an awesome still of Lee wailing on his ax
with flames a blazing. Anyway you can post that here for the enjoyment of the AV Club faithful???
Later,
Chip
