Transformers

I ventured out to see the Transformers tonight. 90% moving mechanical parts, 9% coy comedy interjections, and 1% everything else about describes it. And it’s worth every penny of the $7.75 ticket price. I loved every minute of it.

You don’t see a movie like this for the acting, the dramatic interludes, or the truer-than-life parallels to our own world. You go to be entertained, and that’s exactly what happened. The CG was spot-on. It conveyed weight and density like I’ve never seen. And the comedic parts punctuate the story as if to say “hey, c’mon, this is fun.” And truth be told, I enjoyed the plot. No complaints.

I understand that liberties must be taken to update the movie to a 2007 audience (like, for example, Megatron doesn’t magically shrink to the size of a hand gun). I’m OK with that. Nice work, Mr. Bay. I thought you did an excellent job.
