No, I’m not talking about that. I’m referring to immersing yourself in the feel of a project. Right now, I’m working on the Gunslingers series at NewSpring. And my iTunes playlist shows it. Currently spinning:
Blaze of Glory – Bon Jovi
Wanted Dead or Alive – Bon Jovi
Wild Wild West – Will Smith
Mammas don’t let your babies grow up… – Willie Nelson
The Gambler – Kenny Rogers
(Ghost) Riders in the Sky – The Outlaws
Aside from Kid Rock, did I miss any old / new West anthems?
Charles Cole
Ghost Riders in the Sky by the Outlaws, and the entire Desperado Album by the Eagles, Cowboy Song by Thin Lizzy pop into my mind
Tim Lemons
wild wild west, Escape Club? probably not what your looking for though

“Happy Trails” by Roy Rogers & Dale Evans; the theme song from the Clint Eastwood film “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” … and the “Rawhide” TV show theme (if you’re really bold)
Jamie
“Shoulda been a cowboy” by Toby Keith. Ok……?
But seriously, look up “The Ballad of Irving”. Great western tune.

“I Walk The Line” Johnny Cash

Big & Rich – “Save a Horse – Ride a Cowboy”
I’m seriously geeked up for this series.

“Two Gunslingers” by Tom Petty

* “Knocking on Heaven’s Door”… Bob Dylan wrote it for “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid,” which he also starred in. (The superior GNR cover is one of many examples of Bob Dylan being a great songwriter and madiocre singer.)
* “Modern Day Cowboy”… this dated (and pretty cheesy) Tesla track turns Cold War tensions into a sort of high noon shootout.

Forgot one – “Gunslinger” by Blues Traveler
