Many who know me know I’ve become an Apple fanatic in the past year or so. Now, I know that Apple won’t save the world, but I do think that a well designed creative machine will not impair your creative vision. (it won’t develop it for you, either). Still, the tech world is talking about this new “thing,” the Zune. It’s Microsoft’s answer to the iPod.
A bit late, I say, but competition is always welcome. Many have seen the recent Mac vs PC ads. They really make you think Mac has it going on. Well, here is a recent Microsoft Zune ad. DOES THIS MAKE ANYONE WANT A ZUNE??? It scares me. This article on feed links more information. I’m a fan of Tokyo Plastic, who evidently built this piece.
I think this goes to prove the principle that “gross things don’t sell products.”

Seriously, that ad gives me the heebie jeebies. As far as the Mac vs PC ads, I really liked them, but I recently read that Apple fired Justin Long. Apparently, “most people who’ve watched the ‘Get a Mac’ ads come away ‘liking the ‘PC guy’ while wanting to push the ‘Mac guy’ under a bus.’” (via AppleInsider)

After watching the “Zune” ad… I feel like if I bought one I would have to wear SPF 4 million and fear little cute birds. I’m not sure of the tie into where that makes me want to buy a Zune. Good piece… wrong product placement.
Oh well…. makes me glad I have a safe Ipod. I don’t have to fear fire breathing parakeets.
